Begin with one large box {that has been a boat, a cave, an art display, and almost recycled…}
Add paint {and a friend – hi Bridget!}
Allow some drying time {and Mama clean-up time} preferably by making chaos of the rooms upstairs…
Pour glue all over the top, and generously sprinkle on glitter, gems, colorful cotton balls, feathers, and whatever else you can find.
While that dries, make some crowns with sticky gems and glitter glue. If you are 2 or 3, be in awe of the non-scribbles on a 4-year-old crown.
How many times do you think Mama will have to write that “J” and it will actually dry before Jack rubs it off and we have to start again?
Princess Bridget is looking for a prince costume to wear.
After quiet time consult a book that has pictures of castles. Add some turrets, and the third string set-up for the drawbridge. Invite Grady inside now that he is finally awake from his mega nap.
The inner workings of a castle revealed.
Make Grady giggle.
Get completely into costume, and declare your knighthood {very loudly.} Also, be oblivious to the fact that a knight and a ninja are not the same thing.
Get Grady’s mama to draw dragon mascots on your flags.
Celebrate a well-made castle!
Good Night, Good Knights!
(Now look back and try to figure out how many outfits we went through in one day. The first photo is right after a morning bath. The last is in pajamas for the evening.)
that is one awesome castle. i lost track of the costume changes before you even mentioned it. boys aren't supposed to be that bad; that's what girls are for!
