Mamau took Jack to a PCC cooking class today. It was a tea party theme. They made cinnamon twists, egg salad sandwiches, veggie sandwiches and fresh fruit salad with yogurt and poppy seeds. I love that PCC (an organic grocery store here) makes unique foods with kids in their classes. Jack apparently had capers on his sandwich (ok, he put a caper on it, but that is pretty cool!)
Mamau has taken Owen to a few of these already and Jack was excited to have his turn. Whenever we go to a PCC market, Jack says, “This is the place that Mamau takes Owen to classes!”
While Owen and I waited we drove over to Barnes and Noble and read books in the store. I found a really awesome French/English kids’ book which Owen thought was not really all that awesome. Owen found a Batman “where’s Waldo” type book that he thought was the best. I do not think superheroes are the best. It was really hard to not dismiss the book out of hand (especially as both monkeys are having nightmares after seeing Eric play a video game of Batman) But the book was pretty harmless, and I bought it for Owen in the end. (yuck)
Owen was overjoyed that he was able to get a book, AND hot chocolate (brimming with whipped cream) AND a huge brownie. It was really fun to just hang out with Owen. The hour and a half flew by, and we were not ready to go back and get Jack when his class was over.
